Diwali

Diwali is celebrated for about five days, this year is between 12th till 16th Nov. On November 14th, we celebrate Laxmi Puja in the evening, and Kali puja late in the night, till after midnight (IST). During Diwali, we can find different meanings about these famous celebrations, starting from the simplest ones, till reaching the esoteric ones…

Although most people celebrate Diwali as a victory of good over evil, with family meetings, exchanging gifts, celebrating special moments together with the loved ones, and doing firecrackers…

On Nov 14th evening, we celebrate the Laxmi puja, yes, again…and late in the night the esoteric Maa Kali puja.

Every year, our Maa Kali temple offers a succulent ceremony, havan ( fire ), big flower decorations, big arati, and ending 2 days after with a bandhara, offering of prasad ( foodstuff offered to the Goddess) to more than 800 attendants. We offer bandhara 2 days after, as there are more family celebrations in between that are being held across the country, so our organization makes sure nobody misses the chance to take Maa Kali prasad. From our Prem Yoga Varanasi team, we wish you a Happy Diwali !!
