Dhanteras or Dhanatrayodashi, takes place this year on 13th Nov. Dhan means wealth, while teras means the 13th day of the lunar calendar, according to the Hindu calculations.
There is a long legend about this day, saying that Goddess Laxmi took birth while the churning of the ocean was happening, between Devas (demigods) and Asuras (demons), She emerged, bringing a golden pot, containing all wealth possible! On this day we welcome Her with puja (worshipping) and sacred rituals.
Dhanvantari also emerged, is a Visnu incarnation, who brings us the Ayurveda, the traditional Indian medicine. Dhanvantari also brings a golden pot, containing the Amrit, or celestial nectar, all the sacred plants that cure every disease.
On this day, the auspiciousness of Health and Wealth takes place, to bless our life, especially during these tough times of uncertainty, we can offer our respects and prayers for global prosperity.
May our prayers reach those in need of kindness, compassion, recovery, wealth, and health.
